Arms of Hope, according to the organizations website, is a not-for-profit Christian organization that is focused on assisting and extending a loving hand to some of the most disadvantaged children and single-mother families in our culture by providing shelter, necessities and life skills at their greatest point of need. Local Arms of Hope representative from the McAllen area, Angie Acosta, previously reached out to La Feria Police Department about any coats that could be donated.

L-R: Capt. Armando Gonzalez, Officer Estefany Vazquez, Andrea Cuevas, Chief Cesar Diaz, Angie Acosta, Rick Martinez and Lisa Rodriguez present the donated coats to be delivered to Arms of Hope organization.
“I think we may be able to help” replied Lisa Rodriguez and soon Chief Cesar Diaz approved a donation of two large boxes containing coats donated by LFPD officers, dispatchers, and their families. Acosta was elated to have received the call from Rodriguez that a donation was available for pick up.
On November 28, 2018 LFPD presented the donated coats in two large festively decorated boxes to AOH representative Angie Acosta and local area Supervisor Rick Martinez.
