La Feria Water Plant to Get More Improvements
- Updated: December 14, 2018

La Feria water plant is slated to get better now that the city council has accepted a bid from a company that will be in charge of making the improvements.
The council awarded the bid to Ferguson Service Systems of Rancho Viejo during its Tuesday, Dec. 4 meeting.
The bid came in at $271,000, or the lower of two proposals submitted to the city on Nov. 20.
City Manager Jaime Sandoval said the good thing about the bid is that it came within budget.
“This will allow us to make a few other upgrade improvements,” he said before recommending the bid be awarded. “This is for more improvements to the water plant.”
In other business, the council approved a request to let the Texas Lady Spartans use the city’s sport complex for a football jamboree on Feb. 2, 2019.
A representative of the organization said there will be six teams participating in the event, which usually takes place in Corpus Christi.
The council was introduced to a new team of people that has joined La Feria Volunteer Fire Department.
