Local Thrift Store to Hold Toy Give-away

The Christmas spirit touches a lot of people.
Some cities, chambers of commerce and other entities tend to give toys, food and other things to people, particularly those who need it the most.
And there are others, such as Hilario and Michelle Reyna, who also like to share this time of year.
The Mercedes couple owns Reyna’s Treasures Thrift Store here in La Feria, which they opened here about 14 months ago.
This week they are having a Christmas gifts give away to the first 50 children who show up accompanied by a parent or a relative at their shop at 310 Short St.
The give-away will take place from 5:30- p.m. to 7 p.m., this Sunday, Dec. 23.
Michelle Reyna said they are doing this so these children have something for Christmas.
“We know some of these children don’t get much,” she said, “so we are going to give them these little gifts that we are going to buy for them.”
She said the toys will be unwrapped.
Also, Santa Claus will be there for anyone wanting to get their picture taken with the legendary Christmas icon.
