A group of Winter Texans staying at VIP La Feria West were treated to cream pies.
But instead of sitting down to enjoy the goodies, they got the fluffy desserts in a different way.
The residents actually sat on a chair as other winter visitors placed the pies in their faces.
They also provided the pies as part of a fundraising event in which proceeds went to first responders.
Rene McElderry, a park resident, said a lot of pies went flying.
“One of them went for $50,” she said about a donation. “We had quite a few people showing up.”
McElderry said it was a nice event for a worthy cause.
The fundraising netted $1,825.75 it was the second such event in as many years.
Linda Hughes was the fundraiser organizer.
