Gladys Porter Zoo Hosts Dawn of the Dinosaurs
- Updated: March 15, 2019
Brownsville, Texas – They’re back and they’re bigger than ever! Gladys Porter Zoo staff is excited to showcase some of the largest and most breathtaking dinosaurs the Zoo has ever had. The Dawn of the Dinosaurs exhibit will be open from March 9th till July 7th.
Visitors will be amazed by the robotic dinosaurs brought to “life” by Billing Productions, a world leader in the design and development of animatronics for zoos, museums, and theme parks. With a collection of both static and dynamic dinosaurs, including an interactive stegosaurus, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Guests will have the opportunity to get face-to-face and take a photo with the ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex. In addition to the dinosaur attraction, a crayon rubbing station is also available for kids to enjoy.
To get the public excited for the opening of this exhibit, the Gladys Porter Zoo’s Facebook page will be posting daily dino trivia until March 8th. The first person to correctly answer each trivia question will win a family pack of passes to the Gladys Porter Zoo, as well as tickets for the Dawn of the Dinosaurs exhibit.
The exhibit is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An additional cost of $3.00 will be charged at the gate or the entrance of the exhibit, which is located in the Special Events building. We encourage the public to step back in time and witness the dinosaurs as they once were, only at the Gladys Porter Zoo.
This limited time exhibit was made possible by the City of Brownsville, McDonald’s, and Metro by T-Mobile. Special thanks to our media sponsors, KRGV- News 5, KGBT- TV 4, Entravision, Spectrum, KVEO, R Communications, Televisa, 94.5, 107.9, 101.5, and iheartradio.
