Noble Texas Builders, a Rio Grande Valley-based company, has unveiled its new headquarters on Main Street in La Feria.
Company executives, business leaders and elected officials met on Wednesday, March 20 to dedicate the 8,000 square foot building occupied at one time by El Chaparral Supermarket.
Rene Capistran, the company president and CEO, said they invested $1 million to retrofit the facility into what will serve as the company headquarters for years to come.
“I would like to thank everybody for being here,” he said. “This is overwhelming.”
Capistran said their company is not just about brick and mortar but about building communities.
As proof of that, they presented a check for $25,000 to Our Lady of the Lake University from the company’s Noble Charities endeavor.
Noble has completed a couple of hundred commercial projects and it’s embarked in many others since its founding four years ago.
Capistran said they are glad to be in La Feria, adding the support they received from city leaders was outstanding.
Olga Maldonado, the city’s mayor, said nobody appreciates having Noble here more than the city and its residents.
“We all used to shop and buy groceries in this building,” she said, referring to the old supermarket.
“Thanks for coming to La Feria.”
City Manager Jaime Sandoval said he had no words to describe how Noble impressively converted the Chapparal building.
U.S. Congressman Filemon Vela said he could not think of a better example of what the American
Dream and this country is all about than seeing Noble relocating to La Feria.
Noble started four years ago with a few employees, compared to more than 70 today. The company’s annual payroll is $4 million.
Gus Ruiz, commissioner with Cameron County Precinct 4, said he was shocked after he toured the building.
“This is a great day for the Valley, for Cameron County and for our precinct,” he said, “and a great day for the City of la Feria.”
