Harlingen Dental Clinic Awards JROTC Scholarships

Ten area high school students enrolled JROTC became the newest recipients of a scholarship program set up at Harlingen Family Dentistry.
Called The Way to Happiness, each student is chosen by a list of judges who view their projects each based on ROTC core values.
A total of $6,000 in scholarships were up for grabs for the best projects.
Twelve judges viewed the projects.
They were Ricardo Sanchez, a retired lieutenant general and now CEO of Optech Enterprise Solutions; Esteban Mejia, master sergeant with US.. Air Force: and Capt. Michael Roberson, a U.S. Army company commander, among others.
The scholarship ceremony was held Thursday, April 4.
