The year’s biggest fundraising for one of the Rio Grande Valley’s biggest attractions is this Saturday, Oct. 7 and the money made from the evening full of activities will be used to build an OtterBhan exhibit.
It’s Zoofari 2019, an evening of fun, food and music at Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville.
The 46 year old facility houses about 1,600 animals some of which are in various statutes of life such as in the endangered, threatened or other list.
A ticket for the event costs $125 and it includes dinner, beer tasting and access to both the silent and live auctions.
The zoo which opened its doors in 1973 attracts an estimated 375,000 visitors annually and it’s among the nation’s top 20 zoos.
Zoofari 2019 will be held from 6:30-10 p.m. this coming Saturday.
