Career day was in full swing last week at some of La Feria ISD elementary schools.
Sam Houston Elementary had its career day on Feb. 6 and had several participants, including some from AEP Texas and a physician assistant from Sesame Family Clinic in Harlingen.
Hector Cazares, principal at Sam Houston, mentioned the importance of having a career day for the little ones.
“It makes them aware as to why they are in school and learning,” he said.
“It makes them aware of what careers are available for their future.”
Sam Houston has an age group of 3-10-year olds.
The students at Sam Houston also had fun dressing up as their career choice.
Meanwhile, Dominguez Elementary had its career day on Feb. 7. They had 14 participants that day ranging from All-Star Dentistry to the Culinary Arts department from TSTC.
But the best part of their career day was having the helicopter from Homeland Security land on their playground. Dominguez Elementary students age range from 10-12-year olds.
In all the students had a chance to learn about a wide range of opportunities that are out there for them to choose from.
