Get your pets ready and head to the Humane Society of Harlingen.
The non-profit organization offers a variety of low cost services for the domestic critter, including rabies vaccinations from 9 a.m. to noon the first Saturday of every month. The next rabies clinic is set for March 7.
Other services the organization provides include microchipping, nail clipping, blood testing, flea and tick prevention, heartworm medications as well as supplies for one’s favorite canine or feline.
The cost ranges from $5 to $25, depending on the type of services.
Pet owners who want to attend the rabies clinic are advised to register their four-legged critters from noon to 6 p.m. the Thursday and Friday before each clinic is held.
Sarah Cano, spokesman with HSH, said more than 1,000 people from throughout the area have been showing up for the monthly clinics.
“We have been noticing that quite a few people come from La Feria,” she said. “We also get people from the Laguna Madre area.”
The Harlingen Humane Society is located at 1106 Markowsky Ave. For more information please call 956-425-7297.
