SANTA ROSA – Santa Rosa Independent School District leaders made special curbside deliveries to the Top 10 students of the Class of 2020 on April 27.
Board President Santos Castañeda, Board Vice President Sandra Rickford, Board Secretary Danny Theys and Superintendent Angela Gonzalez went to the homes of Santa Rosa High School’s highest-ranked students and recognized them alongside their family members in their front yards. The students were presented with a few small gifts as well as a “Top 10 Scholar” yard sign.
According to Gonzalez, it was important to personally visit these students.
“The students can’t go to school during this time, but we can go to them,” she said. “They have worked extremely hard for four years, and they still deserve to be honored for their academic achievement.”
The Top 10 students for the SRHS Class of 2020 in order of rank are: Valedictorian Cameron Cuevas, salutatorian Casandra Canal, Juliet Salce, Dante Rios, Uriah Aldape, Brandy Ramirez, Michelle Agado, Paola Trevino, Josslyn Silguero and Alexia Cuevas.
