Santa Maria’s Michelle Almazan and Kristen Aleman recently signed letters of intent to take their athletic talents to the colege level.
Almazan is set to play basketball at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. CMU is an NAIA school that competes in the Heart of American Athletic Conference. This past season the Eagles were 31-2 and were set to enter the first round of the NAIA National Championship before the season was abruptly canceled on March 18 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, Aleman, who was an exception talent over her four years at Santa Maria, is now headed to Texas A&M University-Kingsville where she will run track & field. TAMUK is a NCAA Division II school that competes in the Lone Star Conference.
