LA FERIA – School has officially started for students at La Feria ISD as students kicked off the new school year on Aug. 24 with 100 percent online remote learning.
Prior to the first day, staff at La Feria ISD made sure kids were well prepared by handing out devices like laptops and hotspots for those students in need of devices. Instructional packets and schedules were also handed out at the time.
The district also kept everyone informed on how to turn on and set up their devices by showing instructional videos and by showing students how to log on to their classes. There are also technical support numbers on the district website at laferiaisd.org and Facebook page for any assistance.
This year’s incoming high school freshmen’s orientation also was a virtual one as student’s met online prior to the start of the school year.
School will continue at 100 percent online virtual learning until late September at which time the school board will meet prior to Sept. 21 to decide if instruction will continue online, in-person or in some kind of hybrid fashion after Sept. 28, which is the date Cameron County delayed the start of in-person instruction.
