New internal medicine clinic opens in mid-Valley
- Updated: December 10, 2020
WESLACO – A new internal medicine clinic has opened in the Mid-Valley and is accepting appointments from new patients, including adult and geriatric patients.
The UT Health RGV Internal Medicine clinical site at Knapp Medical Center is now open in the Knapp Medical Plaza building at 1330 E. 6th Street, Suite 105, adjacent to the north side of the hospital in Weslaco.
Physicians are currently available to see patients at the new clinic Monday through Thursday afternoons, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Patients 18 years and up can be seen by internal medicine physician residents with the new UTRGV Internal Medicine Residency Program at Knapp Medical Center. The physician residents are under the supervision of board-certified internal medicine physicians, including Dr. Timothy Health, Program Director; and Dr. Fatimah Bello, Associate Program Director.
The physicians can help patients manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) — as well as treat a broad spectrum of internal medicine conditions — and help with wellness care and addressing obesity.
The new clinic, which features five exam rooms, can be reached at (956) 296-7710. The clinic will be accepting Medicare, Medicaid and most insurance plans.
