Special to La Feria News
On the evening of Saturday, December 12th, as many in the community toured the decorated homes in La Feria Santa, Mrs. Claus and Rudolf made a special appearance at Casa Granada located at 908 South Willow.
Word spread quickly throught the community of their arrival and children from the neighborhood and surrounding area quickly arrived for a photo opportunity and a candy cane treat.
Santa (Dan Harryman), Mrs. Claus (Belle Buitron) both of Harlingen and Rudolph (Abel Gonzalez Mencio), the homeowner, welcomed the children and their parents during the 2020 La Feria Chamber of Commerce Christmas Home Division of the Decorating Contest. The contest is an annual community tradition which continued this year despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has put a damper on much of the city’s usual holiday events and traditions.
By popular demand, there was a repeat performance of this special holiday appearance on the evening of Saturday December 19th, from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm before the trio returned to the North Pole to prepare for Christmas Eve.
Casa Granada and Casa Granada Floral are located at 908 South Willow (directly across from the Sports Complex) in La Feria.
