With Christmas right around the corner, and the pandemic with no end in sight many families in the community are struggling much less have money to buy gifts for Christmas. Kids shouldn’t have to worry about not having a present to open on Christmas day. That’s why two separate local groups in La Feria have decided to hold a toy drive for the children in the community.
First the La Feria High School Class of `91 decided to come together to hold its first annual toy drive. They have asked for new unwrapped toys to be dropped off at their designated locations from now until December 20, 2020. Designated drop off locations are Sweet Blessings Cheesecakes, J.C. Wing Company and Allstate- Doug Thompson Agency at 1117 N. Stuart Place Rd. Harlingen.
La Feria’s Pay It Forward group has also decided to hold its first annual Holiday Toy Drive. As you may have heard or read about them, the Pay it Forward program has already helped many families in the community with food, clothing, paying bills etc. and continue to do so.
They are collecting new unwrapped toys to be dropped off at designated locations. They are J&D Insurance, The Neighborhood Dr. & Los Amigos Restaurant. Wherever you decide to drop off the toys, the children in the community will benefit from your generosity.
