Multiple Lionettes snag district honors

La Feria wrapped up a strong 2020-2021 season. The Lionettes finished their season with a 9-4 record along with a bi-district title and finished the season as an area finalist.
La Feria picked up a 4-1 bi-district win over Raymondville before bowing out to Calallen 13-0 in the area round.
Plenty of Lionettes made the all district list.
Marianna Cervin received Co-Defensive MVP. On the first team was goalkeeper Taylor Garza, forward Misrrain Granado, defender Zeena Flores and mid-filder Cassandra Garza.
On the second team was, Midfielder Cassandra Pardon, defender Diana Zuniga, defender Angelissa Torres and forward Savannah Ihrig.
On the honorable mention list was midfielder Gabriela Zepeda, defender Amanda Cisneros and goal keeper Arbella Navarro. “Although the season did not end as we would have preferred, we are very proud and thankful that we were able to finish the season and we are ready to continue working for more success next season,” said La Feria coach Jesus Escherria.
