Big Win for Round Two

The La Feria Lionettes kicked off the second round of 32-6A against the Rio Hondo Lady Bobcats. The First meeting went to La Feria, who thanks to big offense and defense led to a 15-4. The Lionettes are 5-0 heading into the matchup.
After their dominant win in the District Opener, The Lionettes have been on top of 32-4A. Rio Hondo was looking to return the favor. La Feria got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning off an RBI Single by Hayaris Jimenez. La Feria held Rio Hondo scoreless throughout the first three innings.
In the bottom of the third inning, The Lionettes’ bats came alive as La Feria tacked on 11 runs in. Leading the Offensive surge for the Lionettes were Miah Bocanegra, Anna Torres, Railee Carvajal, Karla Trevino and Bella Quiroz. Making it a 12-0 Ballgame.
Heading into the top of the fifth inning, Rio Hondo began to show signs of life as the Lady Bobcats managed to score two runs. La Feria would record the three outs and end the game in five innings to win 12-2.
Final box score was La Feria scoring 12 runs off 13 hits and 3 errors. For Rio Hondo, the Lady Bobcats scored 2 runs off 4 hits and 3 errors. The Lionettes improve to 6-0 where they will next face district rival Raymondville.
