The Santa Rosa Warriors have had a good 2022 so far. Currently at 6-2 overall and 3-1 in District 16-3A DII play. But what has come the Warriors’ way in 2022.
In the non-district campaign, Santa Rosa went 3-1. The Warriors started week one with a win over the MMA Leathernecks 34-0. In week two, Santa Rosa took on the St, Joseph Academy. St. Joseph’s offense got hot and blanked out Santa Rosa 42-6. Santa Rosa then defeated La Villa 40-20 and then Progreso 53-0 to close out a very efficient Non-District campaign.
In District play, Santa Rosa defeated George West in a thriller 14-12 to capture their first distinct win. Santa Rosa next took on the Odem Owls. In an evenly made matchup, Santa Rosa held off Odem to win 21-20. Santa Rosa would suffer their first District loss to the Taft Greyhounds in a shutout fashion as the Greyhounds defeated the Warriors 43-0.
After the loss to the Taft Greyhounds, Santa Rosa had their BYE week. After BYE Week, Santa Rosa then defeated Monte Alto at home 63-20. With two more District 16-3A Division Il games, Santa Rosa will then face Hebbronville on the road then host Banquete in the regular season finale.
