On Monday, November 21, a meeting was held in Port Isabel by AMI kids. There, Noble Texas Builders presented a check for $6,913 for the materials to begin renovations at the AMI kids facility in Los Fresnos. Vice President at Noble, Juan Delgado shares that Rene Capistran, CEO of Noble met with AMI Kids Director, Javier Ibarra a couple of years ago and loved what AMI kids do for the youth in the area.
He further shared that there was a need for renovations there at the AMI kids facility.

“And so what we did, is we teamed up with them,” Delgado says that Noble will be assisting AMI kids by giving $6,913 to them for the materials needed for some of the renovations of the first dorm. Noble has said they are working to help more in the next year by fundraising to help AMI Kids get the funds they need. Juan Delagado also mentions that Noble will be offering material prices at wholesale, making the cost less for any of the renovations they may need.

AMI kids’ Executive Director, Javier Ibarra states, “This contribution that Noble Texas Builders/Noble Texas Charities has provided to AMI Kids of the Rio Grande Valley is much appreciated and will be put to great use in renovating the exterior of one of our dorms.”

Glenn Lemke, the AMI kids RGV Chairman, shared that they are hoping to have that price matched by the AMI kids organization in order to do more repairs towards the first dorm. Lemke shares “We are looking at trying to completely redo the outsides and also remodel whatever needs to be on the inside.”

So, What is AMI Kids
AMI Kids is an organization that was founded in 1969 by Judge Frank Orlando Chief Juvenile Court Judge in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The organization basically is to help kids in need of support. Formerly, the location in Los Fresnos was a site for troubled kids as an alternative to Juvenile detention, now the location focusing solely on children in the foster care system. The students there attend the Los Fresnos CISD and are supported with tutoring or any mentorship and guidance they may need. AMI Kids is a very large organization, but Director Ibarra explains that their location specializes in kids in the foster care system. These kids have housing there at the facility and the Program staff/mentors help kids in many different ways.

“They(Program staff), are not only staff but mentors, that create nurturing bonds with our young men, ensuring confidence and stability,”

Juan Delgado says that’s what Noble recognized right away, and saw how it fell right in line with their values.

Noble’s motto is “Inspire hope, Improve lives, and strengthen the community we live in.” Juan Delgado shares that they are there to “assist people who are in need and make our community a better one for everyone.” Juan Delagado continues by saying, “We’re from the Valley, we’re blessed to have a good job and be able to provide for our families, and therefore we want to be able to help others,” Delgado finishes with, “We want to make this a BETTER community!”
