The La Feria Lionettes Softball team is knee deep in District 32-4A action. Currently 6-2 in District Play, La Feria holds one of the best records in the district. But how did they get there?
La Feria opened up 32-4A Play with a loss to Zapata 7-5. After a hard start to District, the Lionettes got in gear and never looked back. La Feria would then defeat Raymondville 9-4. To continue their dominance, La Feria would pickup a pair of shutout wins over Grulla 12-0 and Hidalgo 19-0. La Feria then took on Harmony School of Innovation, then defeated Port Isabel in a wild 6-5 matchup.
To Begin the second half of 32-4A Play, the Lionettes fell in shutout fashion to the Lady Hawks 6-0. La Feria would bounce back again and pick a wild 7-6 win over Raymondville to get a sweep over the Lady Bearkats.
The Lionettes will have four more regular season games over Grulla, Hidalgo, HSI and Port Isabel to wrap up the regular season. Currently 6-2, the Lionettes sit in second behind the Lady Hawks, who are the lone unbeaten team in the District.
La Feria is on pace to punch their ticket to the playoffs and continue their multiple playoff appearances in the last few years.
