La Feria Independent School District (ISD) recently organized its inaugural internship program, providing an exceptional opportunity for over 50 students to gain hands-on experience in various professional fields. The district expressed its gratitude to the businesses that partnered with them to make this program possible and commended the students for their dedication and commitment.
La Feria ISD posted on Wednesday, May 31, “The district would like to thank the many businesses that have allowed our students this opportunity! We look forward to the next six days!”
Throughout the internship program, La Feria ISD students had the chance to work with a diverse range of organizations, gaining valuable insights and practical skills. From the La Feria ISD Business Office to local businesses such as Exxxtreme Cycles, Moss Realty, and SMOKE BBQ, students were able to experience real-world scenarios and learn from industry professionals.
Students participating in the program were assigned to businesses across different sectors. At Moore’s Land Surveying, LLC and Avila’s Auto Services, students like Jolee Garza, Arabella Navarro, Liana Navarro, and Sebastian Flores had hands-on opportunities to learn about land surveying, both in the field and in an office setting.
Other businesses, including the La Feria Police Department, Noble Construction, and Slate Media, extended their support and offered students valuable experiences in their respective fields. These partnerships enabled students to immerse themselves in practical work environments, gaining insights into various professions and expanding their knowledge and skills.
The internship program also encompassed businesses such as Benavides Law Firm, Gulf Aviation, Harlingen Medical Center, Bombshell Hair Studio, RGV Credit Union, LFISD Teacher Internship at Sam Houston Elementary, Fulcrum Engineering, Texas Smoke BBQ, JC Wings, Rooster’s Cafe/You’ve Got Maids, Noble Construction, Texas State Alarm, and Jojo Radio 100.3. Each business provided students with unique learning opportunities, ranging from legal practices and aviation operations to healthcare services, engineering, culinary arts, and media production.
La Feria ISD is thrilled with the success of its internship program and the positive impact it has had on its students. The program not only exposed students to various career paths but also allowed them to apply their academic knowledge in real-world situations. Through these invaluable experiences, La Feria ISD continues to empower its students and prepare them for future success in their chosen professions.
