Heavenly Grace Donates Mini Footballs to La Feria ISD
- Updated: October 5, 2023

On Friday, September 8th the La Feria News was invited by Heavenly Grace Funeral Home and Memorial Park to a meeting with La Feria ISD Superintendent Cindy Torres to announce the donation of over 200 mini gold footballs. They were donated by Heavenly Grace for the next home game. Dr. Daisy Garza, a family service counselor for Heavenly Grace, designed the mini gold footballs along with help from Funeral Director Michael Cavazos. Dr. Garza mentioned it had been too long since the tradition of throwing mini footballs into the stands full of Lion fans was in effect. “Hopefully the tradition will continue as before.” This was a very unique meeting as September is also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and was a perfect time for this giveaway as La Feria ISD is going gold for the month of September. Mrs. Torres said that “September is very important to raise awareness for childhood cancer and early detection.” The La Feria News would like to Thank Dr. Daisy Garza for the invite and Superintendent Cindy Torres for her time.
