Terror on Texas Ave is on for its 3rd Year

Get ready for some fun and excitement as the Rio Grande Valley Livestock Show hosts its fall festival “Terror on Texas Ave”. The event will take place on the stock show grounds in Mercedes from October 26th through October 29th. Thursday and Sunday they will have free parking and free admission and on Friday and Saturday general admission will be $10 for adults and children 2-13 will be $5. Children 2 and under are free. There will also be carnival rides with a Thursday discount special starting off the event with all-you-can-ride wristbands for only $15 and on other days the wristband will be $25.
This year the Mercedes Police Department will be hosting their National Night Out in collaboration with the RGVLS Fall Fest from 4 to 10 pm on Thursday, October 26th. So, what’s fall without a scarecrow? Well, this year there will also be a build-your-own scarecrow competition for ages 5 to 17, and participants will be able to win cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Contest participants will have their entries displayed during the 3rd Annual Fall Festival and people attending the festival will be able to cast their votes for their favorite scarecrow. There will also be a huge pumpkin patch with plenty of photo opportunities.

On Saturday, October 28th they will be holding and kid and adult costume contest with cash prizes as well. Also, each day at the event the first 100 kids entering will receive Halloween candy bags. If you love spiders or have a fear of spiders dare to enter the arachnophobia exhibit which will be open every day from 4 to 11pm. during the event. And of course, who would want to miss the Haunted House which will only be open on October 27th & 28th. So, make sure you don’t miss this haunting of a good time and check out the carnival, haunted house, pumpkin patch, arachnophobia experience, hayrides, shopping boo-tique, kiddie spook ville, food venders and so much more!
