Lions knock off Grulla in District Opener

La Feria News
After an eventful non-district calendar, the La Feria Lions are officially in business as District 32-4A has officially begun. On the schedule first, the Lions faced off against the Grulla Gators. In their meetings last season, La Feria got the wins in both matchups of the 2022-23 season.
Both teams clashed and battled back in forth as the Lions and Gators juggled for control looking for their first district win.
After a grueling battle, La Feria was able to break away and win 34-30 to go 1-0 in district.
Up next will be a break in 4A action as the Lions will resume on January 2 against the Hidalgo Pirates. The Lions will then take on Brownsville Jubilee on January 5.
Following that matchup, the Lions will face off against three key opponents against Port Isabel on January 12, Zapata on January 16, and Raymondville on January 19.
After Raymondville, the Lions will open up the second round of district against Grulla on January 23, then Against Hidalgo on January 26. La Feria will then meet with Brownsville Jubilee on January 30. The Lions will take on Port Isabel to open up February. La Feria will wrap up the season against Zapata on February 9, then against Raymondville on February 12.
Last season, La Feria finished in 3rd of District 32-4A, which led to an area Round appearance against Sinton. The Lions look to use the experience in non-District to fuel the drive for a District Title.
