Angie’s Tex-Mex Restaurant Under New Ownership

Just in case you might not know Angie’s Tex-Mex restaurant here in La Feria is under new ownership. Back in October of 2023 new owner Elizabeth Cantu of Harlingen and her family bought the restaurant and its name. Elizabeth mentioned that she’ll probably change the name sometime in the future but for now, she’ll stay with the name Angie’s. Elizabeth is new to the restaurant industry, but it was her niece that convinced her to buy the restaurant. “My niece has been in the restaurant business for over 10 years, so she knew how to run it and convinced me to buy it and so I decided to invest in it.”

She also mentioned, “The transition has been a smooth one, but I would just like the people to come in and see firsthand how it’s a different environment.” They have a private room for baby showers or parties. If you’d like to reserve the private space, just give them a call at (956) 364-9709. They still offer a daily buffet for people who are on a time limit for lunch or want to enjoy a variety of food. The lunch buffet is from Monday through Friday and the breakfast buffet is on Saturday. They are closed on Sundays. They are located at 401 W. Expressway 83 in La Feria next to First Cash Pawn.

From my experience eating there. It’s been about a month since I wandered into this restaurant. From the first time I ate there, I was welcomed upon entering. The owner Elizabeth makes you feel like you’re part of her family and greets you on your way out. She does that every time I eat there and that is one of the reasons I continue to go back. She’s very friendly and comes by to check on your table if everything is okay. She walks around and does that to every table at the restaurant. If they don’t get it right, she’ll make sure you leave satisfied with your order. I like their buffet and that they have breakfast all day. Give it a try if you haven’t gone there since the previous owners.

En caso de que no lo sepas, el restaurante Tex-Mex de Angie aquí en La Feria tiene un nuevo dueño. En octubre de 2023, la nueva propietaria Elizabeth Cantú de Harlingen y su familia compraron el restaurante y su nombre. Elizabeth mencionó que en algún momento en el futuro probablemente cambiará el nombre, pero por ahora se quedará con el nombre de Angie. Elizabeth es nueva en la industria de la restauración, pero fue su sobrina quien la convenció de comprar el restaurante. “Mi sobrina ha estado en el negocio de restaurantes durante más de 10 años, así que sabía cómo administrarlo y me convenció para comprarlo y decidí invertir en él”.

También mencionó que “la transición ha sido fluida, pero me gustaría que la gente viniera y viera de primera mano cómo es un entorno diferente”. Tienen un salón privado para baby showers o fiestas. Todavía ofrecen el buffet diario para las personas que tienen un tiempo límite para almorzar o simplemente quieren disfrutar de una variedad de comida. Según mi experiencia comiendo allí. Ha pasado aproximadamente un mes desde que entré en este restaurante. Desde la primera vez que comí allí me recibieron bien al entrar. La propietaria Elizabeth te hace sentir como parte de su familia y te saluda al salir. Ella hace eso cada vez que como allí y esa es una de las razones por las que sigo regresando. Ella es muy amigable y viene a revisar tu mesa si todo está bien. Ella camina y hace eso en cada mesa del restaurante. Si no lo hacen bien, ella se asegurará de que usted salga satisfecho con su pedido. Me gusta su buffet y también me gusta que desayunen todo el día. Pruébalo si no has ido allí desde los dueños anteriores.
