The City of Primera held their 2nd Annual Winter Festival on December 16, 2023. The free event was filled with plenty to do for both kids and adults. This year, the kids got to experience something you don’t find in the valley. The City of Primera had an artificial Ice Rink installed just for this event and for kids to enjoy. The kids also got a chance to experience sledding on an artificial sledding simulator. There was also miniature golf and other activities. The popular Jurassic RGV was on hand with dinosaurs in tow. There was plenty of live music by Groupo Sortilegio, Rustic Rose and Grupo La Bomba Loca. Food vendors were on hand with plenty of delicious food to buy and a beer garden for the adults. All this took place at the City of Primera Park located at 22893 Stuart Place Rd. The city would like to Thank The Primera EDC and the rest of their sponsors First Community Bank, The Casas Group, Commissioner Gus Ruiz- Pct. 4, Hanson Professional Services Inc, GQ Cleaning Solution, L&F Distributors, Waste Connections, Johnny’s True Value, Boys and Girls Club of Harlingen, South Texas Emergency Care Foundation, City of La Feria and Cameron County Constable Pct.5.
