Superintendent’s Corner
- Updated: March 15, 2024
I hope this letter finds you well as we welcome the arrival of spring. As Superintendent of La Feria ISD, it is my privilege to share with you important information regarding events in the district.
With the end of the school year drawing near, preparations for the Texas State of Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) testing are underway. The STAAR tests are designed to measure student proficiency in core academic subjects and provide valuable insights into their academic progress. As parents and guardians, your support and encouragement are instrumental in helping students feel confident and prepared for these assessments. I encourage you to communicate regularly with your child’s teachers, review study materials together, and ensure they get plenty of rest during testing periods. Together, we can help our students demonstrate their knowledge and skills to the best of their abilities.
We encourage parents and guardians to assist the district in ensuring your children attend school on a regular basis. Attendance is an important factor in student achievement. Your support and encouragement play a crucial role in the academic success of your child.
I also encourage you to pre-register your child for the 2024-2025 school year through the Skyward Parent Portal. Pre-registration is essential for effective planning, resource allocation, and program development. By gathering accurate enrollment data in advance, La Feria ISD can better meet the needs of their students, optimize educational opportunities, and create a positive learning environment for all. If you need assistance, please contact your child’s campus.
In closing, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and partnership in our district. Together, We are One! One Community and One District. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need any assistance or have any questions.
Cynthia Torres
Superintendent of Schools
