Get ready for a spectacular evening filled with wonder and discovery under the stars! We invite you to join the City of Harlingen on Friday, February 28, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Harlingen Soccer Complex, located at 4515 E. Harrison Ave., for an unforgettable Star Gazing event that promises to ignite your curiosity about the cosmos.
During this enchanting night, knowledgeable staff members from the Challenger Learning Center at TSTC Harlingen will guide you through the exploration of the night sky. They will provide access to high-quality telescopes, allowing you to observe celestial bodies up close, while sharing intriguing facts and stories about our solar system and beyond.
In addition to the stellar sky-watching experience, attendees can indulge in a variety of delicious food options, engage in creative face painting, and enter a raffle for a chance to win a telescope of your very own—a perfect opportunity to continue stargazing at home!
This family-friendly event is designed to provide a safe, educational, and entertaining atmosphere for all ages, making it a perfect outing for families and friends. Don’t forget, you’re welcome to bring your own telescopes to enhance your experience even further!
The Challenger Learning Center is part of the renowned Challenger Center for Space Science Education, an international non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and engaging students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Founded in April 1986 by the families of the astronauts lost during the Challenger space shuttle mission, this center serves as a beacon of hope and education in the community.
The Harlingen location is one of approximately 50 Challenger Learning Centers worldwide, proudly serving groups and schools throughout the greater South Texas region.
This exciting event is hosted by Harlingen Parks and Recreation, in close collaboration with the Challenger Learning Center at TSTC Harlingen. We look forward to sharing this mesmerizing experience with you—you won’t want to miss this chance to explore the mysteries of the universe!
