The La Feria Baseball and Softball teams have officially began District 32-4A action, both teams won big to open up their 2025 District Schedules
We look at La Feria Baseball first. The Lions opened up against District Rival Port Isabel. Last season, the Lions swept the Tarpons in 2023-24. This season, La Feria looked to do the same.
The Lions opened up the first two innings in a big way, scoring in a combined eight runs to blow the game open. The Lions defense was solid, 12 strikeouts by the Pitching staff kept the Tarpons down.
The bats continued to be hot for La Feria as the Lions drove in six runs in the third inning. The fourth inning would be the last for the game as La Feria would win 17-0.
Meanwhile, the Lionettes were scheduled to begin their District softball against Port Isabel. The Lionettes who had a solid non-district, looked to have the same energy into district.
The Lionettes took on the Lady Tarpons in the opener. Solid defense and good hitting by La Feria allowed the Lionettes to cruise to a win, routing Port Isabel 15-1.
Both the Lions and Lionettes will continue to roll through district play.
