Lions Continue to Roll in State Playoffs

Basketball in La Feria has had such a success in 2024-25. The Lions and Lionettes have represented their school with pride and dominance. With both teams bringing home a district title, the Lions and Lionettes also picked up wins in the playoffs. Although being quite the eventful season, the Lions are certainly not done.

After capturing the Bi-District Title against Calallen 59-41. The Lions then advanced to take on the Bay City Black Cats. Bay City, who was fresh off a big win over Beeville Jones, was looking to halt the Lions’ momentum. However, the Roll Pride had a different idea in mind. The Lions would lead in the first quarter by four points. The offense would continue for the Lions as they would lead 29-19 at halftime. La Feria would continue leading for the remainder of the game as key defense would keep Bay City down. La Feria would slip away late in the game and win the Area Title 59-41.

Now heading into the Regional Semifinals, La Feria was slated against the Floresville Tigers. Floresville was coming off two big wins against La Vernia and Davenport. La Feria and Floresville Battled until the very end. The Lions would slip away and capture the win 43-31.

La Feria improves to 26-7 on the season as they punched their ticket to the Regional Final where they will face off against Austin LBJ. The Lions have shown heart, determination and resilience, and will look to keep on rolling.
