LA FERIA – Free COVID-19 mobile testing is coming to La Feria and the surrounding communities.
The Commissioner Precinct 4 Warehouse here in town will be used as a mobile testing sight for COVID-19 on Sunday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The warehouse is located at 26623 South White Ranch Road in La Feria just off Highway 83. The site previously had two testing dates on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17.
More testing sights will be available in neighboring cities as well. On Tuesday, May 28, Santa Rosa will hold testing at the Maria Luisa Guerra County Annex from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The annex is located at 166 Santa Vista Avenue in Santa Rosa.
Another sight will be at Combes at City Hall on Monday, May 25, also from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Combes City Hall is located at 21626 Hand Rd.
Those interested in being tested should be aware that an appointment is needed and a screening will only be given if a person shows signs of: fever, a dry or productive cough, fatigue, body aches, shortness of breath, sore throat, headaches, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, nasal congestion, and loss of taste and or smell.
All individuals scheduled for testing must show identification as proof that they live in Cameron County and arrive five minutes before scheduled appointment. Also, in an effort to maximize COVID-19 testing resources, only one test will be administered per household.
To register, please visit www.txcovidtest.org or call 512-883-2400 no more than 24 hours in advance of the desired testing date.
