Recently if you hadn’t noticed there is an Ace Hardware inside El Centro Foods store. The owner of the local grocery store decided to bring a local Ace Hardware to La Feria. The grocery store is now divided in half.

As you enter the store it’s groceries as usual, but towards the back of the store it’s Ace Hardware. It took quite a bit of renovation, but they made it happen. Now local residents don’t have to go out of La Feria to shop for basic hardware needs. La Feria used to have a local hardware store named Betts Hardware Store, where Los Amigos restaurant is located now, but it shut down years ago and since then there hadn’t been a place where people could shop for local hardware.

According to Ace’s website they have over 5,000 stores around the world with the majority of those stores independently owned and operated by local entrepreneurs. They are small business owners who are local and loyal. While others have become large and impersonal, at Ace, they have remained small and very personal. That’s why a visit to Ace, is like a visit to your neighbor. Ace stores offer a variety of paint, lawn and garden tools, local niche services and virtually anything you’ll ever need to fix, repair and maintain you home.

Founded in 1924 by a small group of Chicago hardware store owners, Ace changed to retail landscape by allowing individual stores to purchase merchandise in bulk to save money and buy at the lowest possible price. This partnership enabled even the smaller stores to compete effectively at retail despite larger stores in their market.

And to this very day, Ace Hardware Corporation is still owned solely and exclusively by the local Ace retail entrepreneurs.

The store is located at 500 N. Main St. and hours of operation are Monday thru Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. You can also visit the Ace website at www.acehardware.com and find your local store.
