La Feria Tennis Team Excels

The La Feria tennis team competed in 4A UIL team tennis for the first time since the 1980’s. The team finished with an excellent 15-4 record for the year. The Lion team claimed the district team title with a perfect 6-0 record, defeating Port Isabel, Hidalgo, and Zapata twice. The team advanced to the area tournament where it got 2nd place. The team then advanced to the regional tournament in San Antonio where they lost to Wharton in the quarterfinals.
The team had an excellent year and is anxious to get back to work as members prepare for the upcoming individuals tennis season. All coaches thanked the kids for their hard work and tremendous year.
