Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Held for New La Feria Recreation Center
- Updated: November 1, 2013
On Saturday, October 19, 2013 a ribbon cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony was held at the brand new La Feria Recreation Center at 901 Pancho Maples Drive in La Feria. The event “several years in the making” marks the end of a long road for city officials and La Feria Parks and Recreation. The Recreation Center was made possible through the generous funding of the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD), the United States Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Texas A&M University – Kingsville (TAMUK) and TCEQ/EPA, and the La Feria Economic Development Corporation.
This long awaited community amenity features a number of great resources for the children as well as the adults of La Feria. There is a full sized gymnasium with goals and folding bleachers, as well as an Auditorium, Conference Room, Multi- Purpose Classroom, Computer Training Room, large Restrooms with showers and Administrative Offices.
The Center’s hours of operation are Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and closed on Sundays.
For more information about programs and clinics available at the Recreation Center please visit the City of La Feria website at www.cityoflaferia.com.
