Gladys Porter Zoo Celebrates its 13th Annual Kids Appreciation Day

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS – The Gladys Porter Zoo is inviting all Valley residents and visitors to celebrate their child on National Kids Day. The 13th annual Kids Appreciation Day presented by H-E-B and News Center 23 will be held on Sunday, August 7th from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Zoo.
In honor of National Kids Day, the Zoo will also give-away goodie bags filled with H-E-B Buddy school supplies to the first 1,000 children that receive their passports. It’s a day full of fun activities for visitors of all ages.
Go on an adventure with your child and learn about the diverse and beautiful rainforests. The passport booklet which will take them on an adventure around the Zoo where they will visit themed activity stations including health and wellness, safety, animal conservation and enrichment. Once their passport is full, they will be eligible to enter a drawing for back-to-school prizes.
This event is free with regular paid admission or Zoo membership. Discount coupons for one free child per paid adult admission will be available for pick-up at various locations throughout the Valley. Pick up coupons at all Brownsville H-E-B locations, select H-E-B locations throughout the rest of the Valley, News Center 23 in Brownsville and McAllen and select Metro PCS locations.
