Joe Steve Wolf
- Updated: July 21, 2017
January 11, 1929 – July 6, 2017
Joe Steve Wolf passed away on July 6, 2017 at the age of 88. He was born on January 11, 1929 and was a lifelong resident of La Feria. He farmed in the La Feria area for over 65 years, having earned many awards for his success as a young farmer, including the Outstanding Farmer of America Award in 1974. He loved farming and never considered it a job.
Joe was one of the earliest members of the Confederate Air Force, when it was still in Mercedes, and was a very proud partner in a P-51 Mustang. He was a long-time member of the Harlingen Elks Lodge and the Knights of Columbus and was a parishioner at St. Anthony Catholic Church for close to 60 years. He also served on the Valco Board of Directors. He loved to travel and enjoyed several trips through Europe. He often said he wouldn’t trade those trips for anything.
Joe is survived by sons Steve (Kathleen), Lindsay (Carol) and Paul, as well as daughter Peggy Brinson (Paul). He is preceded in death by wife Glenda and three daughters, Joan, Elizabeth and Pamela.
Special gratitude is extended to Joe’s devoted caregiver for the past 13 years, Ana Ramirez.
A chapel service was held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 8th at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, followed by interment at Restlawn Memorial park in La Feria at 10:00 a.m.
