NAVAL SUPPORT FACILITY DEVESELU, Romania — Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Cassimiro Herrera, son of Paul and Elva Herrera of Santa Rosa, Texas, reenlisted in the U.S. Navy for four additional years while serving on board Naval Support Facility (NSF) Deveselu, located in Deveselu, Romania, September 26.
While serving as a petty officer for three years Herrera decided to reenlist and recommit his time to supporting the country and progressing his career. According to Herrera, throughout his three years of service he has learned a lot about leadership, responsibility and how the military works.
“I’ve had great opportunities to see the world with the Navy,” said Herrera. “I was first stationed in the Bahamas and now being in Romania, I’ve had the opportunity to explore the country, meet a lot of people and work in a complex but rewarding career.”
After graduating from San Benito High School in July 2014 Herrera joined the military with ambitions to further pursue his educational goals and learn on-the-job experience while serving his country. He attributes his success to family and friends back home in Texas.
“I really appreciate all the of the support and I’m really grateful to my family and friends back home,” said Herrera. “I am especially thankful for the continued support of my little brother and girlfriend Jackie.”
Herrera will continue his service to the Navy by reporting to Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Milton, Fla., and hopes to continue to serve for years to come while gaining more knowledge, and experiencing the world.
