City of La Feria Tree Lighting Ceremony was a Great Success
- Updated: December 9, 2021
La Feria News
On Tuesday, November 30th the city had its Annual Lighting of the tree. Mayor Olga Maldonado started off the evening with an opening speech and welcomed everyone to the event. It was good to see so many people in attendance especially because the pandemic had halted the annual event previously.
This year the city unveiled a brand-new tree along with lots of new decorations that are put up around Main Street. If you drive down Main Street at night, you’ll see all the decorations around town beautifully lit. These type of celebrations gives us a sense of normalcy after all that has happened since the pandemic started.
On the night of the tree lighting, carolers were singing and people were laughing and having fun. During the evening pan dulce and sodas were passed out also. And let’s not forget about Santa Claus. He was in attendance taking Christmas wishes and photos with the children. In all the event was a great success.
This Saturday, December 11th will be the Annual Christmas Parade that will take place down main street and will end up at the High School parking lot. After the parade, the annual Christmas festival will take place at the Lion’s Stadium parking lot.
