Get ready folks for some delicious food. There’s a new permanent food truck in town named Sandy’s Drive-Thru. Sandy’s will be located on the El Centro Foods parking lot in between Little Caesar’s Pizza and Millennium Barber Shop. The food truck will be opening in the next week or so. They will be serving fresh ground beef burgers, Nathan’s Famous hot dogs, fish & shrimp and a variety of other delicious food.
Owner Sonny Villarreal is no stranger to the restaurant business. He was the previous owner of the Red Snapper for a little over ten years and had locations in Brownsville, Harlingen, Weslaco, and McAllen. Sonny is now semi-retired and even though his main occupation was construction he had an idea for a food truck and chose La Feria for its location. He’s hoping to attract people not just from La Feria but Valley Wide.
Sonny has been very thankful for the help and support of the City of La Feria and Cameron County helping him get started. Sonny would like to also thank everyone who has helped him along the way and hopes that everyone comes out to try something different. He mentioned that good food takes time, but it will be worth it once you try it. Sandy’s will be primarily a drive-thru but will also have some limited seating available for anyone that wants to stay and sit down and enjoy their food. They will be open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
