LFN Staff

The Santa Rosa Texas Ace Program along with Methodist Healthcare Ministries recently partnered up to provide the parents of the Santa Rosa school district an opportunity to attend their first CAMP GET FIT (Families in Training) The program is a preventative program aimed at averting Type 2 diabetes, obesity, and sedentary lifestyles for school-aged children and their families. It also integrates nutrition, physical fitness, and character education. Get FIT’s goal is to transform the lives of people in medically underserved, rural communities.

At the first camp meeting that was held in Santa Rosa on September 28, 2023, parents were able to familiarize themselves with the valuable components that make the CAMP GET FIT program a great asset for the students and families of the Santa Rosa Community.

Both Parents and students participated in a fun hands-on activity and made healthy yogurt smoothies on a blender bicycle.
