- Updated: March 9, 2024

By Mike Villarreal
The Weslaco Knights of Columbus, Council 3098, held their annual golf tournament on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Tierra Santa golf course. The tournament started at 8:30 am and followed a Florida best ball format for 3-man teams with a minimum team handicap of 32, and no more than one single A player per team. The event included breakfast, lunch, and beverages, and prizes were given out to both individual players and teams. Additionally, a special Rolex watch sponsored by Deutsch and Deutsch was awarded to the first hole-in-one winner on a selected hole.
This year’s tournament marked the 30th year that the Knights of Columbus, Council 3098 have hosted the event. The proceeds raised from the tournament will go towards their scholarship fund as well as supporting other community initiatives. The council also awards scholarships to eligible seniors, with this year’s awards ceremony scheduled for May 2024. Over the past 25 years, the council has awarded scholarships to graduating seniors and will continue to do so to encourage post-secondary education for our youth.

The Knights of Columbus Council 3098 would like to thank all the sponsors, donors, players, and knights who participated in their annual event.
