In the current year, the athletics department had a fresh and unique experience, thanks to the leadership of the new Athletic Director/Head Football Coach, Craig Foster, who assumed the role in February of 2024. The LION Experience, an extraordinary father-son retreat organized by La Feria ISD, proved to be transformational for the senior members of the La Feria Lion Football team. It provided an unforgettable weekend of bonding and offered valuable insight into our football program, emphasizing life’s greatest blessings. The event featured great food, exhilarating activities, challenging events, and genuine, heartfelt moments. In summary, it was an unparalleled experience that not only left everyone inspired but also brought everyone together as a stronger, more cohesive unit.
The moms were not left out as they got to experience fun and excitement with their kids. The A Mighty Lion Mom’s Football Clinic was a special event where moms had the opportunity to meet the coaching staff, hear from the training staff, and even learn from a football official. Following the informative sessions, the moms and their sons had a chance to demonstrate their skills on the field, participating in activities such as blocking, tackling, kicking, passing, and receiving. The event also featured friendly competitions between the moms and sons, creating high-energy and exciting moments. The evening concluded with a touching surprise video in which the sons expressed their heartfelt appreciation to their moms for being their number one supporters. Overall, it was an incredible and memorable experience filled with fun, pride, and heartwarming moments.
