Lions, Lionettes Add Wins in Basketball

As District 32-4A Rolls on, La Feria Basketball continues to dominate in 32-4A. The Lions and Lionettes have been running the show during District action. Both programs have played consistently well in their respective seasons. In fact, both teams remain undefeated in District. Let’s see how the season has gone for the Roll Pride.
The Lionettes completed the first half of District, and dominantly. The Lionettes opened up district play against the Lady Tarpons of Port Isabel. Key offense allowed the Lionettes to take the lead early on, which helped secure the win 59-38.
The defensive dominance continued for the Lionettes as they took on Grulla in their second matchup. This time, offense was on point, winning by a 35 point difference, 55-20. In their third district game, the Lionettes battled with Hidalgo. The Lionettes again were able to control the tempo of the game and take the win 73-42.
Up next were the Jubilee Lady Titans. Defense stole the show, paired with a strong offense, La Feria defeated Jubilee 62-14.
In their final game of the first half, the Lionettes took on the Valley View Lady Tigers. Pure control on offense and defense allowed La Feria to cruise to a 50-11 win.
Meanwhile, the La Feria Lions Boys Team continues their dominant run. The Lions began their 32-4A campaign in a big way. The Lions first took on the Hidalgo Pirates and shut them down to win 51-35. In their second district game against Brownsville Jubilee, the Lions were hot on both sides of the ball, controlling the game and taking the win 56-41.
In their third district game, the Lions took on the Valley View Tigers. Both teams have had some good matchups over the last few seasons in non-district. However this season, things were a bit different. The Tigers in their first season in 32-4A after spending years in 31-5A. In a back and forth shootout that had a lot of offensive and defensive success for both teams, the Lions took control late in the game and captured the win 44-41.
At 5-0 and 3-0, both squads are on a mission to bring home two district titles in the 2024-25 basketball season. The second half will begin soon for the Lionettes, while the Lions will continue round one of 32-4A.
