La Feria ISD Students Compete in Regional Chess Tournament
- Updated: February 20, 2025

By Mike Villarreal
In early February, students from the La Feria ISD 21st Century ACE Chess Program participated in the Regional Chess Tournament held at Veterans Memorial Academy in San Benito. The district takes immense pride in the remarkable performance displayed by these young chess enthusiasts, who demonstrated exceptional skill, unwavering focus, and exemplary sportsmanship throughout the entire event, effectively representing La Feria with both honor and distinction.

The dedication and effort put forth by each player truly deserve a resounding round of applause. Their commitment to the game not only fostered personal growth but also provided a valuable opportunity for them to challenge themselves and refine their strategic thinking skills in chess.
The district would also like to express heartfelt appreciation to all the coaches and volunteers whose guidance and support were instrumental in preparing the teams for this competitive experience.
Furthermore, a special thank you goes out to the families who passionately cheered for the chess players, providing support and encouragement every step of the way. Your involvement played a crucial role in making this event a memorable experience for all.
