La Feria Chamber’s First Fall Small Business Expo a Success
- Updated: November 17, 2017
Special to La Feria News
The La Feria Chamber of Commerce sponsored its first Fall Small Business Expo, 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, on Saturday, November 4th at 118 N. Main St. La Feria, TX (Downtown La Feria).
The Chamber’s continued involvement with civic groups, schools, and churches is the reason for this fundraising event.
The monies generated in vendor fees will be used for the first ever La Feria Chamber of Commerce Scholarship. The Chamber plans to award the scholarship in two categories – a high school senior and a returning college student.
In addition, the Chamber is happy to have this opportunity to showcase our community’s small businesses. Their importance to our continued local economic prosperity and growth for the community cannot be understated.
The Chamber’s purpose is to promote growth by creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere for business growth in the La Feria area by advocating and supporting all businesses in our community through member services.
As the sun set, the lighting gave visitors a beautiful afternoon to enjoy the many vendors with their specialties as the community came out to Shop La Feria First. Entry to the expo was free.
There were several vendors offering something for everyone and well within most budgets. After the community enjoyed the evening downtown with the family they were invited to walk over to American Legion Post 439 (a recent Chamber member!) for barbecue, live music and dancing.
The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank all the customers, vendors and Chamber Members that helped make this Expo a success! The next Expo is scheduled for February 2018.
