Shrine Club to Hold Garage Sale to Raise Funds for Clinics

Shriners are a brotherhood of men committed to family, engaged in ongoing personal growth, and dedicated to providing care for children and families in need. Through events like the upcoming garage sale they are able to provide free annual outreach clinics for children with orthopedic and neuromusculoskeletal conditions as well as cleft lip and palette abnormalities. The Rio Grande Valley Shrine Club of Cameron County will hold a garage sale to raise funds for its orthopedic clinics.
It will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 8 at its Cameron County headquarters at 13415 Expressway 83 here La Feria.
The organization holds garage sales to support its goal which is to treat youngsters from 8 months old to 18 years of age.
Four such clinics are held through the year and the next will be Dec. 12, 13 and 14.
Anywhere from 200 to 250 youngsters are seen during each of the three-day clinics.
Anyone willing to donate sellable items such as shoes, clothes, furniture, appliances, computer-related things is welcome to do so by calling 956-797-1524 or by stopping at La Feria headquarters.
“We will take anything that can be sold,” Olivia Wright said. “These fundraisers help support the orthopedic clinics.”
