Medals will be awarded to the top female/male 5K run and 1 Mile Walk participants in all age categories.
Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female runners as well as a trophy for the school with the most runners. This year there is a category for everyone, regardless of age! The categories are 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+!
Net proceeds from the race will fund scholarships for students from La Feria High School. Donations are also always gladly accepted.
The race was first established in 1996 by the Dominguez family in honor of their son, Adrian, who was bound by a wheelchair. It is now the longest-established five kilometer race in the Rio Grande Valley.
The event benefits the Los Diez Education Foundation, which awards scholarships to area students.
The entry fee for the race is $15 prior to the race and $20 on the day of the race. The Kid’s Race starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration on the day of the race will be from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
