“Shake, Rattle & Roll Pride” was the 50’s soda shop theme for 2019 LFISD Convocation.

The 2019 – 2020 school year kick off event included performances by the LFHS Cheerleaders, Migrant and Parental departments, High School, Academy, W. B. Green Jr. High, Noemi Dominguez Elementary, Sam Houston Elementary, David G. Sanchez Elementary, and C. E. Vail Elementary.

“As the proud Superintendent of Schools in La Feria ISD, today was a day of inspiration from our staff in their participation in our 2019-2020 Kick Off!” said Superintendent of Schools, Cathy Lee Hernandez via a Facebook post.

“It is the combination of commitment to our La Feria Family and the culture and climate of the campuses that goes beyond the walls of our school. On behalf of our school board and community, thank you for such an amazing day. A special shout out goes to our band, cheerleaders, Gold Stars and all the individuals who put forth the time and effort for such a successful start of the year”

The celebration welcomed back teachers, board members and professional staff from the various departments that make up La Feria ISD who had gathered at the high school gymnasium for the inspirational performances.

Superintendent Hernandez delivered the welcome back speech highlighting the school districts slogan “Expect – Achieve – Excel” which promotes the importance of having high expectations and that through hard work anything can be achieved in order to excel in life.
