The LRGVDC promotes cooperation among local units of government and provides forums and opportunities for them to work with economic interests and citizen groups in order to improve the region’s health, safety, and general welfare as well as plan for future development.

The membership renewal was unanimously approved.

The commission then entered into closed session where members received legal counsel for three separate items including a complaint from the Department of Wage and Hour, the disannexation of a specific property on Mile 8 North Road, and the city’s legal rights and obligations in regulation and governance of gaming establishments.

The next meeting of the La Feria City Commission is scheduled for 6:30 p..m on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The public is encouraged to attend. An agenda for the meeting can be downloaded from the city’s website at www.cityoflaferia.com.
